Emily Young Carr is a Ph.D. student in international relations at Columbia University’s Political Science Department. Her research interests include international security, foreign policy, alliance politics, and public opinion, with a regional focus on China and the Indo-Pacific. Her dissertation examines the sources of state-level variation in popular response to invasion. Prior to Columbia, she conducted research at the American Enterprise Institute and the Center for Strategic and International Studies. She holds a B.A. from Dartmouth College and studied at Tsinghua University’s IUP Chinese Center.
