Jack Roush

Jack Roush is a PhD candidate in International History at the London School of Economics. His research focuses on U.S. relations with pre-revolutionary Iran during the Cold War, with particular attention to the role of informal and private-sector diplomacy. More broadly, he is interested in how smaller states and their intermediaries can influence the strategic decision-making of great powers, especially in relation to alliance management and regional ordering. He holds a joint undergraduate degree in Persian and International Relations and master’s degree in Iranian Studies, both from the University of St Andrews. Alongside his academic work, he has served as a subject matter expert for NATO’s Defense Education Enhancement Program and writes frequently on contemporary U.S. and Iranian foreign policy.
