Zara Albright

Zara Albright is a Ph. D. Candidate in Political Science at Boston University. Her research explores the causes of growing political, diplomatic, and economic links between Latin America and China. Zara’s book project, Beyond the Great Powers: How South American States Are Navigating US-China Competition in the 21st Century, aims to describe and explain variation in the forms of non-alignment that smaller states are pursuing in the face of great power competition. Zara earned her B.S. and M.S. in International Affairs from the Georgia Institute of Technology and was previously a Global China Fellow at the Boston University Global Development Policy Center. During the 2025-2026 academic year, she will be a postdoctoral research associate at the Princeton University Program in Latin American Studies.
